Safety Resources, Inc. provided onsite safety oversight for new building construction at Alstom Turbomachines Group, LLC in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 2010.
The 350,000 square foot facility was a $300 million dollar investment, and Safety Resources provided safety full time during the mobilization phase and ongoing construction until project completion.
The Challenge
The new building obtained LEED Gold Certification. Alstom Turbomachines Group is a global leader in power, and they have the capacity to manufacture and test the world’s largest turbines for fossil steam, nuclear and gas power plants.
Safety Resources’ services coincided with the client’s initiatives to better understand the challenges created by having active construction projects at an ongoing operating facility and to create safe solutions which enhanced production in both areas. Subsequently, we joined their EH&S Management Team in Chattanooga, Tennessee to assist with auditing and EH&S database management for both construction projects and general industry operations simultaneously.
Safety Resources provides independent contractor safety management services to better manage safety compliance within complex construction projects involving multiple contractors. The result was reduced incident rates and avoiding additional, unrelated costs for our client.
