Safety Resources, Inc. worked for Citizens Energy Group, a local utility, Indianapolis, Indiana, as well as multiple other contractors providing third-party safety oversight.
We provided full time site safety coverage for Citizens Energy Group building the Chiller Boiler Plant in 2011. We worked with a variety of subcontractors throughout each phases of the hospital construction project.
This was an Owner Controlled Insurance Project (OCIP), spanned 1.3 million square feet, was LEED Silver Certified, and valued at $754 million ($81 million philanthropic funds raised).
The Eskenazi Safety Team raised the bar by requiring contractors to go above and beyond OSHA regulations and required safety supervisors to enforce their policies and procedures. Safety Resources was contracted by Citizens Energy Group for the Chiller Boiler Plant and multiple contractors for the construction of the main hospital to provide third-party safety oversight ensuring compliance and contractor safety. Duties including weekly tool box talks (safety meetings), Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), hot work and roof access permits, incident/accident investigations, equipment and tool inspections, fall protection and personal protective equipment monitoring, safety training and regular safety audits, to name a few.
Upon completion of project, the contractors represented by Safety Resources received zero OSHA citations, fines and finished with an incident rate well below the national average and were recognized as top performed on-site. Safety Resources has built and maintained a great relationship with management and the workers of contractors as well as earned the respect of the GC and the owner representative as a professional safety group having been instrumental in reducing safety issues and injuries on this project.
